Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Baumgartner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Bigd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob Bigd will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bigd rushes Baumgartner and presses him up against the cage.
Bigd has Baumgartner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Baumgartner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Bigd misses with an elbow strike.
Baumgartner changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bigd fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Baumgartner looks for a takedown but Bigd sprawls well.
Nice takedown defense from Bigd. No joy for Baumgartner on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Baumgartner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bigd shoots in for a takedown but Baumgartner shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bigd rushes Baumgartner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baumgartner is pressed up against the cage. Bigd has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Baumgartner down to the mat. Baumgartner avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Bigd throws a solid leg kick but Baumgartner takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bigd.
Baumgartner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bigd tries to avoid it but Baumgartner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bigd to the ground. Bigd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bigd closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bigd lands in his opponent's guard.

Bigd seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Baumgartner seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bigd is fighting to break Baumgartner's control of his arms but Baumgartner is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Baumgartner pushes a forearm under Bigd's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Bigd is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
