Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Quincy Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Elvira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Storm comes to the cage accompanied by Ain't No Stopping Me Now. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Quincy Storm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fernando Elvira!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elvira lands with a cross.
Storm takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Storm shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Elvira as he jumps to the side.
Elvira misses with a two punch combination.
Elvira swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Elvira takes a swing at Storm's ribcage but misses.
Storm tries to clinch
and Elvira counters with a nice uppercut.
Storm fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Storm tries a head kick but it misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Elvira. Storm does a little dance to reset his feet.
Storm keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Elvira misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Storm.

Storm takes a jab right on the kisser.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Storm.
Storm will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Elvira is looking for a sweep.
Storm controlling from side mount.
Elvira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Storm. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Storm has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Elvira looks to score with a jab to the body but Storm is just out of range.
Left hook, right uppercut from Elvira.
Elvira throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Storm sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Storm shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Elvira counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quincy Storm. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A jab from Elvira finds it's way through Storm's defenses.
Storm throws a series of punches but Elvira moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Elvira! But no joy.

Elvira scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Storm doesn't seem bothered though.
Elvira misses with a wild body shot.
Storm is looking for a counter combo.
Nice takedown defense from Elvira. No joy for Storm on that attempt.
Storm shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Elvira counters with a stiff right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Storm manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Elvira on his heels. He'll look to pass Elvira's guard now, I'm sure.
Storm wants to control from the top but Elvira keeps moving.
Elvira seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Elvira can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Storm is looking to take a break and control but Elvira is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Storm is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Elvira is just riding it out for now. Storm eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Storm is trying to control the action in half guard but Elvira is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Storm thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Storm content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fernando Elvira dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Elvira connects with a body shot.
Storm pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Elvira tests Storm's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Storm looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fernando Elvira seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Elvira lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Elvira moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Storm drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Elvira has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Quincy Storm overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Storm stands up and beckons Elvira to his feet.
Fernando Elvira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Storm tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Elvira swivels and escapes.
Storm drops his hands momentarily and Elvira takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Elvira keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Elvira! But no joy.
Storm fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quincy Storm. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Elvira jabs Storm to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Quincy Storm is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Elvira connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Storm takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Storm moves forwards but Elvira connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Storm tries to move into range but Elvira moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


Storm is rocked!

Storm walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Storm limp body while Elvira jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Fernando Elvira!
