Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Billy Blanks (ranked 3492 p4p, 491 weight class) and Lucious Lyon (ranked 8846 p4p, 847 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Blanks might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to wasp - wild child. Billy Blanks has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blanks catches Lyon with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Lyon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Blanks swivels and escapes.
Blanks lands a right hook to the body.
Blanks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Blanks wants it to stay on the feet.
Nice jab there from Blanks.

It looks like Lucious Lyon has been cut.

Blanks lands a left and a right that sends Lyon crashing to the canvas! Blanks dives into mount looking to finish!

Lyon is rocked!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lyon seems to have recovered his senses.
It looks like Blanks is going to stand back up.

Lyon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Blanks pulls his head out easily.
Lyon is looking to control Blanks's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lyon avoid being mounted?

Lyon wants to improve his position but Blanks is controlling well.
Lyon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Blanks is working away from the top position though.

Blanks postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lyon to stand up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Blanks lands a nice looking body shot.
Blanks definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Lyon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Blanks counters by moving into the clinch.
Billy Blanks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucious Lyon.
Lyon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lyon tries to pull guard but Blanks won't allow it.

Blanks breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Blanks lands with a good body shot.
Lyon looks winded!
Blanks cracks Lyon's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Lyon slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Blanks can do further damage! This one is done, son!
