Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vicente Thornton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black has chosen the rich beats as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Thornton misses with a takedown

and Black counters by moving into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Thornton's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Black keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Thornton's efforts to push away.
Black goes for a takedown in the clinch but Thornton prevents it.
Black jumps guard but Thornton stands there with Black around his waist. Black gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thornton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Black manages to get himself to full guard.

Thornton wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

and Black counters with a left and a right that stings Thornton.

Thornton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Black sprawls well. Black wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thornton gets slowly back to his feet.

Thornton dives in and grabs Black's left leg, looking for a takedown. Black pushes down on Thornton's head and hops out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Black is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Thornton is defending well.

Thornton is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Black is aware though and is defending well.
Thornton is breathing heavily.

Black gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Thornton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Black's waist but Black gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thornton off to one side.

Thornton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Black but Black pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Thornton closes the distance and clinches up with Black, looking for a takedown. Thornton pushes Black against the cage but Black circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

What's going on here? Black has decided to give up on the ground game despite having his opponent's back!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Black is trying to trip Thornton. He has hold of a leg but Thornton is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Black persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

and Black counters with a crisp one two that drops Thornton! Black thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Thornton to his feet! Thornton is in big trouble!

and Black counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Black.
Oh Thornton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Black is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Thornton can't fight it off and eventually Black manages to take the fight to the floor. Thornton looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Thornton is looking to stand back up but Black counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Thornton.
Christian Black has got the better of the ground game so far.

Black escapes and gets back to his feet.
Vicente Thornton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thornton shoots and misses
and Black counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Thornton badly! He tries to strike back but Black puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Thornton out cold! Oh man, Thornton will never hear the end of this one!

After the fight, Christian Black was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
