Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Maverick Syndal (ranked 4973 p4p, 457 weight class) and Jake Dillashaw (ranked 8699 p4p, 593 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Syndal is looking to clinch.
Dillashaw avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dillashaw misses with an uppercut.

Syndal forces Dillashaw back against the ropes and clinches.
Syndal lands a shoulder strike.
Syndal tries to stall but Dillashaw uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Dillashaw throws an elbow but it misses.
Syndal prevents Dillashaw from breaking the clinch.

Syndal's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Syndal ducks under a wild hook from Dillashaw.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dillashaw is trying to break the clinch but Syndal is controlling him.
Syndal lands a left hand that snaps the head of Dillashaw backwards.

Dillashaw swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Syndal lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Dillashaw is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Syndal definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Dillashaw is rocked!

Syndal breaks from the clinch.
Syndal with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Dillashaw misses the jab.
Syndal uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dillashaw.
Syndal tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Dillashaw manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A little jabbing left from Dillashaw on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Syndal keeps the fight on the outside.
Syndal throws a shot to the body.
Dillashaw tries to close the distance and clinch but Syndal swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Syndal tries to counter by clinching up but Dillashaw breaks away and moves out of range.
Dillashaw fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Syndal counters with a left to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dillashaw tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Syndal paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice defenses there by Syndal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Syndal swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dillashaw.
Syndal tries to clinch but Dillashaw is having none of it.
Dillashaw now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Syndal went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Dillashaw wants to clinch up but Syndal keeps it at a distance.

and Dillashaw takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jake Dillashaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dillashaw misses with a lunging right hand
and Syndal counters with a big right hand! Oh Dillashaw is in trouble here! Syndal follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
