Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Project Joshua (ranked 3344 p4p, 387 weight class) and Jer Bear (ranked 3269 p4p, 381 weight class). Bear has chosen Good Times as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Project Joshua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jer Bear!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joshua throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bear sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bear is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Joshua pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bear back to the cage. Joshua follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Jer Bear has been cut.
Joshua misses with a series of wild punches.
Bear throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Project Joshua has been cut.
Joshua looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Bear lands with a kick to the ribs.

Bear clinches.
Joshua lands a body shot.
Joshua manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Joshua breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Joshua misses with a straight right.

Joshua lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bear circles away quickly and effectively.

Bear has closed the distance and engaged Joshua in a clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Joshua.
Bear scores with a shot to the side of Joshua's head.
Joshua is struggling to control the position.
Bear is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Bear ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bear no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Joshua has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Joshua postures up.
Joshua working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Bear thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Bear throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bear lands strikes from half guard.

Bear perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Bear scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Bear controlling the action here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bear decides to return to a standing position.
Bear gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Joshua counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Joshua takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Bear gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Bear lands a big head kick that sends Joshua tumbling to the mat! Bear takes a step backwards and waves Joshua back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Joshua is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jer Bear dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Back to the action!


Joshua takes one to the chin there.
Oh Joshua is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bear has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Joshua misses with a hook.
Joshua seems to have got his legs back now.
Joshua misses with a double jab

and Bear holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bear misses with a knee strike.
Joshua misses with a short punch on the inside.

Joshua's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Joshua throws a nice looking combination but Bear bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Joshua swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Project Joshua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Joshua misses the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bear lands an overhand right.
Project Joshua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooooh!!! Joshua has knocked Bear down with a huge combo! Joshua steps away and waves a wobbly Bear back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bear takes the fight into the clinch.
Bear with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Bear tries a knee to the head but Joshua blocks it.
Joshua swings wildly with an uppercut but Bear uses good head movement to avoid it.
Come on Joshua - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Joshua tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bear just stands there and leans against the cage.

Joshua pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bear.

Bear drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bear throwing strikes from guard but Joshua blocks nicely.
Joshua has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bear looking to sit in guard and control but Joshua gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bear manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Joshua manages to get himself to full guard.

Joshua has momentary wrist control but Bear slips an elbow through the middle.
Joshua utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bear accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bear tries to free his leg and advance position but Joshua is retaining full guard.
Joshua looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bear is one step ahead there.

Bear is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Bear is looking to work some ground and pound but Joshua has wrist control.
Bear trying to control the position from guard on top but Joshua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bear working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Bear decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Joshua tries to bum rush Bear with a series of wild strikes but Bear uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bear moves out of range of the strikes.
Joshua moves out of range of the body kick from Bear.
Bear tries to clinch up but Joshua circles away and keeps his distance.
Joshua missing with a left hand there. Bear was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bear only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Bear - that will leave a mark!
Joshua uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.


That has opened up Jer Bear's cut even more.
Bear keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Bear slips a jab and a cross from Joshua.
Joshua misses with a left hand
letting Bear counter with a right hand.
Bear throws an overhand right that drops Joshua like a sack of potatoes! Bear dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jer Bear!
Jer Bear seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
