Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norman Pederson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Norman Pederson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derek David!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David fails with a takedown attempt.

Pederson instigates a clinch.

David is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pederson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip David to the mat. David regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
David is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pederson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
David can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pederson controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
David wants to sweep but no luck.
Pederson is stalling in the full guard.
Pederson pushing down on David's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Pederson working over David with some ground and pound. David looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Pederson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
David tries to roll over but Pederson keeps him under control.
David felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Pederson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
David taking some punishment here, with Pederson in his half guard.
Pederson controlling the action here.
Pederson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pederson lands a nice short elbow.
David has hold of Pederson's hands but Pederson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Pederson is looking for a kimura here.
Well, if Pederson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Pederson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows David to get to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
David misses with a left hand
and Pederson counters with a stiff right hand.
Pederson lands a head kick. David smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Pederson takes the fight into the clinch.
Pederson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite David's efforts to push away.
Pederson lands a nice uppercut.
Pederson is pressed up against the cage. David has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pederson down to the mat. Pederson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
David shoots in for a takedown but Pederson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Norman Pederson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derek David.
David has a takedown stuffed.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pederson lands with a light punch inside.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Pederson slowing the pace effectively.
Pederson lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Derek David has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pederson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Pederson lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Pederson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Pederson working David over with knees to the body.
David looks winded!
David has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pederson after a bit of a struggle.

Pederson pulls David into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Norman Pederson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Derek David's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Pederson scores with a head kick. David tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
David is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Pederson jumps into guard, dragging David to the mat.
David stands up out of Pederson's guard for a moment - Pederson manages to land a nice upkick.
David really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pederson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pederson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in David's guard.

Pederson slips nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
David is trying to get back to full guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pederson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
David wants to control but Pederson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Pederson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for David to stand up.
David misses with a leg kick
and Pederson counters with a series of strikes. David will be more careful next time no doubt.

Pederson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with David, pushing him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pederson scores with an uppercut up the middle.


David is rocked!
Pederson pushes David against the cage. Pederson is working some dirty boxing. Pederson pushes off with a quick right hook! David goes down! David tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Pederson moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Norman Pederson!
Norman Pederson seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
