Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Snake Eye (ranked 5970 p4p, 307 weight class) and Henry The Crab (ranked 4240 p4p, 215 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Snake Eye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Henry The Crab!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eye doesn't succeed with the takedown
and The Crab counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Eye thinking.
Eye on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Eye shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches The Crab napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The Crab tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Eye looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Eye misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Eye creates some space and throws a big elbow, but The Crab sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Eye misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The Crab dodges the ground and pound from Eye.
The ground and pound from Eye seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The Crab is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Eye drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Eye jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Eye is fighting to break The Crab's control of his arms but The Crab is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now The Crab is on top in guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Eye closes this distance looking for a takedown but The Crab circles away.
Eye shoots in but The Crab avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Eye shoots in for a takedown but The Crab shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The Crab tries to land a front kick but Eye steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Eye fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but The Crab avoids it really well and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Eye shoots in looking for a takedown. The Crab tries to sprawl out of it but Eye keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. The Crab manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The Crab has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, The Crab creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The Crab dips a shoulder and cracks Eye with a mighty uppercut! Eye falls back against the cage and The Crab unloads with a barrage of strikes! Eye is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - The Crab screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
