PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Takumi Sagaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant McCombie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying McCombie's choice of entrance music: the twist . We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCombie scores with a decent looking hook.

McCombie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McCombie is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sagaki's shoulder. That is not cool.
Let's hope that McCombie has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Sagaki tries to get back to half guard but can't.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sagaki is trying to get back to full guard.

McCombie decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

McCombie slips a straight right by Sagaki.
Sagaki looks for a takedown but McCombie sprawls well.

McCombie shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sagaki manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

McCombie has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sagaki is proving hard to escape from.
McCombie forces his way into half guard.

McCombie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Sagaki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McCombie pulls his head out easily.
Sagaki slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Sagaki has his foot on McCombie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McCombie works his way back into a safe position though.

McCombie looks winded!

Sagaki is looking to cinch up a triangle. McCombie throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sagaki's body to avoid the submission. Sagaki has instead reached around McCombie's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sagaki arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Takumi Sagaki!
In defeat, Grant McCombie stepped up to the mic, saying 'did i really just lose that?'.
