Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andre Soares (ranked 2389 p4p, 249 weight class) and L Manning Hines (ranked 4919 p4p, 454 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Soares might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Black Sabbath - Iron Man. L Manning Hines has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hines swats away the attempt to clinch by Soares.
Andre Soares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Soares misses with a two punch combination.
Soares throws a combination that misses
and Hines counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Soares closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Soares is trying to control. Hines wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Soares is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hines is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Hines scores with a sloppy right hand. Soares should have avoided that one.

and Hines counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Hines counters with a nice body shot.
Soares throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hines throws out a counter right but Soares avoids it with no problem.
A slow jab from Soares misses its intended target.
Soares rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hines moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A little jabbing left from Hines on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Soares falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Hines to counter with a crisp jab.

Hines shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Soares manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hines works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hines looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Hines is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Hines looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

A close round but L Manning Hines will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hines let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Soares closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hines circles away.
Andre Soares is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hines cracks Soares with a right hand to the side of the head.

and Hines counters with a nice uppercut.
L Manning Hines seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hines lands with a hook. Soares tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Oh Soares is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Hines cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hines tests Soares's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hines drops Soares with a naaaaasty hook - Soares is in real trouble here! Hines dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
