PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Lambert (ranked 4362 p4p, 571 weight class) and Desmond Bradley (ranked 2076 p4p, 306 weight class). Lambert comes into the arena with Aaron Lewis - Country Boy blaring out of the sound system. Desmond Bradley will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Desmond Bradley!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bradley throws a hook but Lambert avoids it easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Lambert. That's going to slow Bradley down.
Lambert fails with a takedown attempt.
Bradley swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Bradley lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Lambert changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bradley looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lambert misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Lambert has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bradley wants to get back to his feet but Lambert drags him back down.
Bradley takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Lambert drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lambert jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lambert has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Bradley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lambert works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Lambert is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lambert tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bradley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lambert somewhat.

Bradley's coach down at Wreckshop was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bradley's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Lambert. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Bradley cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lambert changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bradley tries to avoid it but Lambert manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bradley to the ground. Bradley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

As Bradley looks to move away, Lambert throws a big counter combo but Bradley just gets out of the way.

Lambert throws a right hand that Bradley ducks under and follows up with a left that Bradley also avoids with ease.
Bradley looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lambert shoots in looking for a takedown but Bradley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lambert's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bradley sizes up Lambert with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bradley feints with a jab and clips Lambert right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Lambert is sent crashing into the canvas and Bradley leaps in for the kill! Lambert tries to get to his feet but Bradley is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Lambert is in need of a savior and steps in!
