PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eagle Loveladdy (ranked 1188 p4p, 167 weight class) and Satoshi Tanahashi (ranked 1538 p4p, 225 weight class). Loveladdy comes to the cage accompanied by Snoop Lion - Here Comes The King!. Tanahashi has chosen Blood Stain Child - Stargazer as his entrance music. Satoshi Tanahashi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eagle Loveladdy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Satoshi Tanahashi!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Loveladdy takes a shot to the body in his stride.

We've been told by Loveladdy's head coaches at Broken Halo's -Temple of Illumination that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

It appears Loveladdy was looking to counter with a kick there.
Tanahashi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tanahashi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Tanahashi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Loveladdy manages to avoid it.
It looked like Loveladdy was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Tanahashi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Loveladdy rather than just go for the knockout.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Satoshi Tanahashi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Eagle Loveladdy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Loveladdy crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Tanahashi - the referee stops the clock and Loveladdy gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Tanahashi. Loveladdy manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Eagle Loveladdy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tanahashi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Loveladdy counters with a crisp one two that drops Tanahashi! Loveladdy thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Tanahashi to his feet! Tanahashi is in big trouble!

and Loveladdy counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Tanahashi badly! He tries to strike back but Loveladdy puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Tanahashi out cold! Oh man, Tanahashi will never hear the end of this one!

Eagle Loveladdy decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
