PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between David OConnor (ranked 5586 p4p, 197 weight class) and Akio Yamamoto (ranked 25107 p4p, 141 weight class). Yamamoto is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lil Whyte - Oxy Cotton. Akio Yamamoto told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Akio Yamamoto!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OConnor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick misses from OConnor.
Some bone on bone action there as Yamamoto checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
OConnor misses with a few strikes there.
And Yamamoto tries to counter it with a takedown but OConnor pushes his down on his head and steps out.
A solid leg kick lands there for OConnor.
OConnor throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Yamamoto counters with a single leg into guard. OConnor didn't expect that.

Yamamoto drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Yamamoto seems to have locked his on tight now - OConnor screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Yamamoto, as he picks up the win!
