Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ben McHough!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McHough cracks the inside of Island's front leg.
Island shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and McHough counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Island thinking.
McHough is looking to slow Island down with leg kicks.
Island tries for a takedown but McHough circles away easily
and McHough counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Island thinking.
McHough pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
McHough chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Island fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mister Island. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Island with a poor takedown
and McHough cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Island tries for a takedown but McHough sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Island gets cracked with a nice right hand there by McHough.
McHough turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
McHough scoring well with a low kick there.
McHough has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Island shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and McHough counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
McHough digs a good body shot into Island's ribs.
Island goes for a double leg but McHough avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McHough continues to drive forward.
McHough lands a nice looking kick to the body. Island takes a step back to recover.
Island is breathing heavily.
McHough dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Island takes a shot to the body in his stride.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McHough fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A left lands for McHough.
Ben McHough is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Island takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
McHough connects with a single shot there.


Island is rocked!
Island looks up at the clock. Bad move! McHough lands a right hand from hell, dropping Island. McHough pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ben McHough!
Ben McHough is the new bantamweight champion!
An out of breath Ben McHough thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
