Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Bobby Boucher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rokuya Date!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boucher tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Date defends well and Boucher ends up having to push Date into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Date looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Boucher bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jab by Date.
Date uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Boucher.
Boucher has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gizmo's Gym in the buildup to the fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Date. Boucher does a little dance to reset his feet.

Boucher shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boucher not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Date can do anything to dispel that myth.
Boucher pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Date is keeping the position for now.
Date keeping moving, preventing Boucher from controlling successfully.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Boucher stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Date swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Date being controlled here, momentarily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Horrible takedown attempt by Boucher or perhaps it was just good defense by Date, which made it look bad.
Boucher looks for a takedown but Date sprawls well.
A little jabbing left from Date on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Boucher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Date scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Boucher slips under a jab.
It looked like Boucher was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

and Date counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Bobby Boucher has been cut.

Date looks to throw the jab but Boucher is out of range.

Date lands with a hook. Boucher tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Date gets caught napping as Boucher dives in and scores a takedown. Date manages to retain guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boucher is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Date is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rokuya Date will probably get the nod.

and Date counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Date connects with a body shot that sends Boucher's belly button to the back.
Boucher throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Date connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Date throws a body shot but no joy.
Boucher misses with a shot to the body
and Date counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Donk. Date catches Boucher right on the button with a cross.

Boucher drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boucher wants to control but Date is keeping him busy.

Boucher is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Date looks calm but he's in trouble here. Boucher gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Date is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Boucher lets go of the hold and Date can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bobby Boucher!
Post fight, an emotional Bobby Boucher said 'My momma don't know I'm here, so will you please not tell her so she don't get mad cuz I like the fighting and the hand slapping. '.
