Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Speedy Gamboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jez Beltran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gamboa closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Beltran did well to prevent Gamboa getting side control.
Beltran is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gamboa wants to control but Beltran is keeping him busy.
Beltran is controlling Gamboa's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Beltran tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Gamboa closes the distance and clinches up with Beltran, looking for a takedown. Gamboa pushes Beltran against the cage but Beltran circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Beltran is pressed up against the cage. Gamboa has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Beltran down to the mat. Beltran avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Beltran misses with a takedown attempt - Gamboa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Gamboa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Beltran but Beltran pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Beltran shoots in and bounces Gamboa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Beltran is standing up over Gamboa. Gamboa looks to escape but Beltran dives into side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Speedy Gamboa will probably get the nod.

Beltran changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gamboa tries to avoid it but Beltran manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gamboa to the ground. Gamboa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Beltran throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gamboa was covering up waiting for the punch and Beltran finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
