PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Sams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Gordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Johnny Sams has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Johnny Sams seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sams avoids the body shot from Gordan.
It looked like Sams was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Gordan tries to keep at a distance but Sams has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Gordan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Sams goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sams drops his hands momentarily and Gordan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Sams has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gordan after a bit of a struggle.

Sams tries to work over Gordan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Sams seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Gordan swats away the attempt to clinch by Sams.

Sams uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gordan.
Gordan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sams under the eye.

Sams clinches up with Gordan and pushes him back against the cage.
Gordan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sams's elbow.

Gordan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gordan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sams.

Sams moves into the clinch.
Gordan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

We've been informed that Gordan has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Gordan pounces like a tiger and cracks Sams with a vicious hook! Sams is down but not out! Gordan follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
