The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Damme tries to keep at a distance but Mayoniko has taken the fight into the clinch.

Mayoniko breaks from the clinch.
Van Damme takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Van Damme misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mayoniko goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Mayoniko avoids the head kick by Van Damme.
Mayoniko cracks Van Damme with an open hand slap.
Van Damme tries to clinch up.
Mayoniko bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
A jab from Mayoniko does it's job there.
Van Damme really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Van Damme takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Mayoniko closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Van Damme out cold! Van Damme corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
