Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Boy Cojuangco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dmitri Dmitrov!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cojuangco looking to score a takedown here. Dmitrov is defending well but Cojuangco drives through and ends up in Dmitrov's guard.
Cojuangco forces his way into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cojuangco is looking to take a break and control but Dmitrov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dmitrov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cojuangco moves into full mount! Dmitrov won't be happy about that!
Cojuangco wants to control the pace but Dmitrov is squirming around nicely.
Cojuangco takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dmitrov is trying to get back to his feet but Cojuangco has full control of the position and if anything, Dmitrov has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Dmitrov is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Cojuangco off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Will Cojuangco go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
I would not like to be Dmitrov right now.
Cojuangco has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Cojuangco seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dmitrov for as long as he can get away with.
You can see the frustration on Dmitrov's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Cojuangco will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dmitrov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cojuangco.
A countering left hand to the body from Dmitrov misses.
Dmitrov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cojuangco's waist but Cojuangco gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dmitrov off to one side.
As Dmitrov looks to move away, Cojuangco throws a big counter combo but Dmitrov just gets out of the way.
Cojuangco definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Cojuangco shoots for a double leg takedown but Dmitrov sprawls well. He's pushed Cojuangco's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Dmitrov is trying to trip Cojuangco. He has hold of a leg but Cojuangco is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dmitrov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cojuangco is staying tight to Dmitrov's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Cojuangco darts in looking for a takedown but Dmitrov gets double underhooks and turns Cojuangco into the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tony Boy Cojuangco.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cojuangco, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
