Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Lolipo Slider (ranked 2418 p4p, 358 weight class) and Alexander Yakovlev (ranked 4368 p4p, 572 weight class). Yakovlev has chosen Maroon 5 - Sugar as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slider lands a nice hook to Yakovlev's body. Yakovlev takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Yakovlev will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Slider sizes up Yakovlev with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

It looks like Alexander Yakovlev has been cut.
Yakovlev has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Slider misses the shot to the body.
Slider thuds his right hand into Yakovlev's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Slider connects with a leg kick. Yakovlev looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Yakovlev throws a sloppy head kick and Slider moves out of range easily.
A decent looking cross lands there for Slider.

Slider moves into the clinch.
Yakovlev's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Slider keeps control of Yakovlev as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Yakovlev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Slider is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Yakovlev can do to turn this around?
Yakovlev misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yakovlev chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Slider can pounce on him.
The fighters circle momentarily. Slider darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Yakovlev tries to move into range but Slider moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Nice uppercut lands for Yakovlev. That snapped Slider's head back.
Alexander Yakovlev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yakovlev throws out a head kick that Slider doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Slider crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Slider's eyes and has decided to let it go on!

It looks like Lolipo Slider has been cut.

Yakovlev lands a front kick to the face, that drops Slider to the canvas! Is he dazed or just shocked? He's back to his feet and the referee is going to allow him to continue the fight!

Slider lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Yakovlev lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Yakovlev has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Slider finds it's way round the side to connect with Yakovlev's head.

That has opened up Alexander Yakovlev's cut even more.

Yakovlev clinches up with Slider and pushes him back against the ropes.

Slider swings wildly with an uppercut but Yakovlev uses good head movement to avoid it.
A frustrated look appears on Yakovlev's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Yakovlev tries to break free but Slider pushes him back against the ropes.

Slider throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Yakovlev blocks it with crossed arms.

Yakovlev pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Yakovlev dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Slider. That did some damage!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yakovlev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Slider connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Yakovlev momentarily.
Slider throws a good cross that connects.

Yakovlev is rocked!

Slider cracks Yakovlev with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Yakovlev is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Yakovlev is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Yakovlev could not beat the count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Lolipo Slider!
Lolipo Slider was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Alexander Yakovlev was interviewed post fight and said 'I ll be back, as soon as possible'.
