Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wilmer Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Caguiao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Caguiao has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caguiao doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Meyers makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Caguiao has managed to clinch.
Meyers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Caguiao walks away with a smile on his face. Meyers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Meyers moves into the clinch.
Caguiao wants to break free but Meyers has control.
Still in the clinch, Meyers scores with a nice short uppercut.

Meyers jumps guard and drags Caguiao to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Meyers manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Meyers successfully pulls guard.
Caguiao won't allow Meyers to get back to his feet.
Caguiao throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Meyers works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Caguiao has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

and Meyers counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Meyers has closed the distance and engaged Caguiao in a clinch.
Meyers tries to pull guard but Caguiao forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Meyers.

Meyers is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Caguiao can't fight it off and eventually Meyers manages to take the fight to the floor. Caguiao looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Meyers is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Meyers controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Caguiao working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Meyers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Meyers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Meyers is looking to work some ground and pound but Caguiao has wrist control.

Meyers gets to his feet - Caguiao follows without any prompting.

Meyers takes the fight into the clinch.
Caguiao wants to break the clinch but can't.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Meyers gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Caguiao has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Meyers is on him like a limpet, forcing Caguiao back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Meyers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Caguiao shoots for a takedown but Meyers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wilmer Meyers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Caguiao.

Caguiao closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Caguiao wants to get back to striking at distance but Meyers won't allow it.

A bit of stalling here from Meyers.

Caguiao ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Caguiao no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meyers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Meyers distracts Caguiao with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Meyers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Caguiao on the ground.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Caguiao drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Meyers keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Caguiao's efforts to push away.

Meyers ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Meyers no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Meyers has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Caguiao off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Meyers closes the distance and pushes Caguiao back into the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caguiao is trying to control the position but Meyers postures up.

Meyers drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meyers jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Caguiao pushes a forearm under Meyers's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Meyers is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
