Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elijah Carter (ranked 25136 p4p, 0 weight class) and Federico Pascuale (ranked 6658 p4p, 0 weight class). Federico Pascuale has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elijah Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Federico Pascuale!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pascuale pushes Carter up against the cage in a clinch.
Pascuale tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Carter is trying to pull guard but Pascuale turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Carter tries to pull guard but Pascuale holds him up against the cage and eventually Carter drops back down to his feet.
Carter gets underhooks to prevent Pascuale's takedown attempt.
Carter fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elijah Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pascuale just stands there and leans against the cage.
Carter jumps guard but Pascuale turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Carter fails to pull the fight into his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Pascuale's efforts to push away.

Pascuale jumps guard and drags Carter to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Carter decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Pascuale shoots and misses
and Carter counters with a series of strikes. Pascuale will be more careful next time no doubt.
Pascuale misses with a body kick.
A quick step to the side and Carter tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Pascuale has managed to clinch.
Carter jumps guard but Pascuale stands there with Carter around his waist. Carter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Carter ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Carter no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pascuale is looking to work some ground and pound but Carter has wrist control.
Carter lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Pascuale is stalling in the full guard.
Carter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pascuale trying to control the position from guard on top but Carter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pascuale slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Pascuale wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.
Carter working a defensive guard but Pascuale passes into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pascuale throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Pascuale moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Carter.
Carter is not content to let Pascuale control the position.
Pascuale moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Pascuale trying to control the action but Carter is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carter can't do much from the bottom here.
Carter trying his best to control but Pascuale has mounted him.
Pascuale takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Pascuale with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Carter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Federico Pascuale dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Pascuale cracks Carter with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


It looks like Elijah Carter has been cut.
Pascuale fails with a takedown attempt.
Carter throws a big counter combination but Pascuale scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Pascuale rushes Carter with punches - Carter moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Carter goes down! Pascuale follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Federico Pascuale!
