PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Miki Viki (ranked 4484 p4p, 423 weight class) and Simon Jensen (ranked 3079 p4p, 294 weight class). Jensen has chosen On Top of the World as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Miki Viki has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jensen clinches up against the cage.

Jensen pulls Viki into guard.
Viki is fighting to break Jensen's control of his arms but Jensen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Jensen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jensen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Viki has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jensen looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Viki passes into half guard.
Jensen has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Viki stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jensen to get to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Viki jabs Jensen to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Viki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jensen moves away.
A combination from Viki does no damage.
Jensen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Miki Viki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jensen closes the distance and pushes Viki back into the cage.
Jensen is trying to pull guard but Viki turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Jensen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Viki walks away with a smile on his face. Jensen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jensen takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Jensen is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Viki walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Jensen drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Viki swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Jensen's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miki Viki!
Miki Viki retains his lightweight title!
A relieved looking Miki Viki thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
