PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tung Fo (ranked 1961 p4p, 295 weight class) and Dan Dango (ranked 5406 p4p, 658 weight class). Dango has chosen ChaChaLaLa as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tung Fo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Dango!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dango fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fo, pushing him back against the cage.

Fo pulls guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Fo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dango defends well.
Fo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Fo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dango loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dango throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dango doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dango manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Dango drops back looking for a leg! Fo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fo manages to kick Dango off! Dango jumps back into Fo's guard.

Dango avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dango.
Dango is looking to work some ground and pound but Fo has wrist control.

Dango content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Fo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dango gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dango postures up in Fo's guard and throws a big left but Fo blocks it.
Fo tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Dango is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Fo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dango doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dango manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dango won't allow Fo to sweep him here.

Fo is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Dango rolls with it to try and escape but Fo cranks on the arm and Dango is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
