PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wilmer Meyers (ranked 25342 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Gadzina (ranked 6665 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Gadzina told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Wilmer Meyers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Gadzina!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gadzina shoots in for a takedown but Meyers shows good takedown defense.
Gadzina closes the distance and clinches up with Meyers, looking for a takedown. Gadzina pushes Meyers against the cage but Meyers circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Wilmer Meyers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Gadzina.

Gadzina instigates a clinch.
Meyers tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Meyers tries to circle away but Gadzina has him pinned against the cage.

Meyers is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gadzina gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Meyers tries to score a body lock takedown but Gadzina shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Meyers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Meyers jumps guard and drags Gadzina to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Gadzina gets to his feet. Meyers looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Gadzina looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gadzina throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Meyers's waist but Meyers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gadzina off to one side.
Meyers swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Gadzina has taken the fight to the clinch.

Gadzina's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gadzina throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Meyers tries to pull guard but Gadzina forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Gadzina working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

It looks like Adam Gadzina has been cut.

Meyers pulls guard effortlessly.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Meyers was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Meyers has closed the distance and engaged Gadzina in a clinch.

Gadzina gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Meyers regains guard.
Gadzina stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Meyers wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Gadzina stands and steps away. Meyers gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Meyers tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gadzina manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gadzina let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Gadzina dives in and grabs Meyers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Meyers pushes down on Gadzina's head and hops out.
Gadzina takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
