The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rivera as he avoids it easily.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kovalev!
Kovalev throws a lazy head kick
and Rivera counters with an outside leg kick.
Kovalev tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kovalev has eaten all the pies!
Kovalev takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Rivera lands a big head kick that sends Kovalev tumbling to the mat! Rivera takes a step backwards and waves Kovalev back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Kovalev is rocked!

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Rivera, right into the meat.
Kovalev is still on wobbly legs! Can Rivera finish him?
Rivera feints a jab and as Kovalev dips his head, Rivera unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Kovalev right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Kovalev falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Rivera smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ruben Rivera!
