Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Krom Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Smith!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kong counters with a good low kick that Smith was not able to check.
Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kong avoids it really well and circles away.

Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kong breaks from the clinch.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kong.
Kong displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smith throws out the jab.
Kong throws a head kick that misses.

Kong throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

As Kong backs off Smith throws a huge counter combo but Kong manages to avoid it all.
Kong lands a nice leg kick that just misses Smith's sensitive parts.
A clash of legs there as Smith blocks the low kick.
Smith looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Krom Kong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kong with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Smith takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kong connects with a solid leg kick.
Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kong is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Kong circles away and we're back to standing.
Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Krom Kong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kong throws a leg kick
letting Smith counter with a right hand.
Smith paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Kong pivots, looking for a leg kick but Smith is out of range and Kong settles back down.
Smith throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kong sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kong feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

A telegraphed right hand from Kong misses the target.
Kong throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kong. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet.
Smith lands a head shot.
Kong on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Kong misses with a straight left.
Kong throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith lands with a nice combination. Kong backs away looking to recover.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Kong looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kong throws a nice inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kong misses with a looping right.
Kong throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Smith is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kong with a body shot.
A lazy body kick from Kong

and Smith counters with a takedown into side control.
Kong is pushing Smith's head away, looking to escape. Smith manages to hold on to the position though.

Smith tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Kong tries to bench press Smith off him but Smith keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Frank Smith will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kong fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Smith checks it well.
Smith connects with a combination that backs up Kong into the ropes. Smith lands a flurry of punches that gets past Kong's guard. Kong is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Smith bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Smith!
Frank Smith thanked the fans post fight for their support.
Krom Kong was interviewed post fight and said 'U were to good tonite'.
