Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter Manuel (ranked 246 p4p, 13 weight class) and David Dickinson (ranked 1902 p4p, 95 weight class). David Dickinson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Peter Manuel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, David Dickinson!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickinson slips under a jab from Manuel.
Manuel misses with a series of wild punches.
Manuel waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dickinson.
Dickinson throws a body punch but Manuel moves out of range.
Dickinson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Manuel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dickinson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Manuel under the eye.

Dickinson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Manuel!
Manuel manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Dickinson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Manuel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Dickinson is working for a submission of some sort.
Manuel is looking for a sweep. Dickinson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Manuel keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Manuel is looking to improve his position.
Dickinson trying to control from half guard but Manuel is working away.
Dickinson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Manuel defending well though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dickinson working over Manuel with some ground and pound. Manuel looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Manuel avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dickinson.
Dickinson is looking to take a break and control but Manuel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Manuel tries to kick Dickinson off but Dickinson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Manuel wants to get back to full guard.
Manuel controlling the position well.

Manuel is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dickinson pulls his head out easily.
Dickinson is looking to take a break and control but Manuel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dickinson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dickinson is looking for a kimura but Manuel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dickinson to get the leverage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dickinson missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Dickinson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Dickinson is trying to work for a kimura but Manuel is defending well.
Dickinson is stalling here. Manuel is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dickinson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Manuel has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Manuel tries to stand but Dickinson is controlling his head.
Dickinson is trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dickinson can't do much from the bottom here.
Dickinson tries to bench press Manuel off him but Manuel keeps the position.
Dickinson is trying to control Manuel's posture but Manuel avoids it.
Manuel tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dickinson regains half guard.
Dickinson moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but David Dickinson will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Manuel takes a jab right on the kisser.
Dickinson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Nice jab there from Manuel.
Dickinson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Manuel lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Manuel is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Manuel blocks a low kick nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dickinson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dickinson there as he acknowledges the shot.


Dickinson is rocked!
David Dickinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dickinson looks to land a combination. Manuel sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Dickinson is still on wobbly legs! Can Manuel finish him?
Dickinson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Manuel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dickinson tries to clinch there but Manuel circles away.
Dickinson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Dickinson throws a right and a left that Manuel avoids nicely.

Manuel drops Dickinson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dickinson looks back up at him and smiles so Manuel waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Manuel steps in with a hook that catches Dickinson right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Manuel follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Dickinson looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Manuel!
Our winner, Peter Manuel, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
