Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Clarke (ranked 7683 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hunter Tyler (ranked 8266 p4p, 0 weight class). Clarke comes to the cage accompanied by March of Cambreadth. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clarke misses with an uppercut
and Tyler counters with a right hand to the body.
Tyler on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

The fight stays on the outside here - Clarke looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Clarke throws a nice looking combination but Tyler bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Tyler lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

I was talking to Clarke's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Tyler has had enough of the clinch but Clarke keeps him there for the moment.

Tyler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Michael Clarke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clarke closes the distance looking to clinch
and Tyler connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Tyler swats away the attempt to clinch by Clarke.
Clarke tries to clinch but Tyler moves out of range.
Tyler tests Clarke's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Clarke keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Tyler.

Clarke fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Tyler is out of range.
Tyler throws out a counter right but Clarke avoids it with no problem.

and Tyler counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Clarke ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tyler moves away.

Clarke throws a right and a left that Tyler avoids nicely.
Clarke on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Clarke doesn't manage to clinch there - Tyler circles away.

Clarke lands a high kick to the side of Tyler's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Clarke dives into guard, looking to finish.

Tyler is rocked!

It looks like Hunter Tyler has been cut.
Clarke pushing down on Tyler's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Tyler is still in real trouble! Can Clarke finish him?
Tyler tries to roll over but Clarke keeps him under control.

Clarke stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Tyler seems to have recovered his senses.
Tyler takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Clarke misses with a body shot.
Tyler might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Clarke throws a half hearted mid kick.
Clarke is looking to clinch but Tyler is avoiding it.
Tyler throws a shot from downtown. Clarke moves away and avoids it.
Clarke misses with a body kick.
Nice jab there from Tyler.

Clarke dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Clarke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tyler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Clarke throws a body shot but no joy.
A clash of legs there as Tyler blocks the low kick.
Clarke doesn't manage to clinch there - Tyler circles away.
A little jabbing left from Tyler on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Clarke throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Tyler stumbling backwards into the cage! Tyler bounces back off the cage towards Clarke, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Clarke lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Clarke celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Michael Clarke!
