The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abedi avoids the head kick by Gonzalez.
Abedi looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Abedi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gonzalez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gonzalez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gonzalez!

Gonzalez has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Abedi! Can he survive? No! He's out! Gonzalez gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
