Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Evans (ranked 5017 p4p, 555 weight class) and Doug Bell (ranked 3912 p4p, 441 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doug Bell!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut there from Bell.
Evans misses with a takedown attempt
and Bell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like John Evans has been cut.
Bell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Evans.
Evans fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bell connects with a body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Evans takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bell is looking to slow Evans down with leg kicks.

and Evans takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bell goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Bell connects with the punch.
Bell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bell has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Evans is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Evans closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bell to the mat! Bell manages to get full guard.
Evans will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Evans thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Bell has control of Evans's left arm, preventing Evans from doing any damage.
Bell tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bell is pulling down on Evans's head to control his posture.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Evans drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Evans jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bell seems keen to control Evans's posture.
Bell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Bell throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Evans wants to control from the top but Bell keeps moving.

Bell is pulling down on Evans's head. It's preventing any offense from Evans, at least for the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Evans takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Bell moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


John Evans's cut is getting worse.
Evans tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Evans somewhat.
Bell doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bell stalks Evans and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Evans's face. Evans staggers backwards, shaken.
Bell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Evans backs up against the cage.


John Evans's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Bell counters with a lovely shot to the body.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doug Bell dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Evans's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Bell changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Evans gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bell.
Bell connects with the punch.
Bell throws a combination. Evans tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Evans misses with a takedown attempt
and Bell counters with a left to the body.
Bell lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Evans at a distance.
Bell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Good exchange - Bell coming out on top.


Jeez, John Evans's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

and Bell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bell lands a left and a right that send Evans crashing to the mat, dazed. Bell thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Evans's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Doug Bell!
