PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Alvarez (ranked 5122 p4p, 636 weight class) and Philo Beddoe (ranked 4827 p4p, 607 weight class). Alvarez comes into the arena with Eminem–Phenomenal blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricardo Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philo Beddoe!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Alvarez slips a jab from Beddoe.
Beddoe throws a looping overhand right but Alvarez ducks down to avoid it.
Beddoe dips to his left and cracks Alvarez with an uppercut!
Alvarez throws a combination that misses
and Beddoe counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
We've been told by Alvarez's head coaches at The Iron Palace that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Beddoe throws the left hand but Alvarez avoids the punch easily.
Beddoe takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Alvarez catches Beddoe with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Alvarez clobbers Beddoe with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

It looks like Philo Beddoe has been cut.
Alvarez fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alvarez lands a really nice looking cross but Beddoe seems unphased.
Alvarez tries to move into range but Beddoe moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Alvarez drops his hands momentarily and Beddoe takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Beddoe thuds a left hand into Alvarez's body.
A combination from Alvarez does no damage.
Alvarez needs to keep his hands up - Beddoe had a free shot at his head there.
Beddoe's jab looks to have found its range, popping Alvarez under the eye.

and Beddoe counters with a big right hand! Oh Alvarez is in trouble here! Beddoe follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Philo Beddoe!
In his post fight interview, Philo Beddoe started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
