Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Max Rhodes (ranked 7650 p4p, 692 weight class) and Primo Carnera (ranked 9512 p4p, 758 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhodes misses with a low kick.
Rhodes lunges at Carnera with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Carnera's hand.
It looks like Primo Carnera has been cut.
A swing and a miss from Carnera.
Rhodes cracks a nice hook into Carnera's ribs.
Rhodes moves out of range as Carnera strikes.

Carnera swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Rhodes lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Rhodes.
Rhodes swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Carnera is trying to break the clinch but Rhodes has him pressed against the ropes.
Carnera struggles to land a body shot inside as Rhodes controls his hands.
Nice body punch from Rhodes - that landed with a thud.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Rhodes.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Rhodes.
Rhodes doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Carnera misses with a short punch on the inside.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carnera breaks from the clinch.
Rhodes moves out of range of the strikes.
Carnera takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
That has opened up Primo Carnera's cut even more.
Carnera takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Carnera gets tackled into the ropes by Rhodes. Rhodes maintains the clinch.
Carnera lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Rhodes.
Rhodes is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
A head punch on the inside from Rhodes fails to land.
Carnera's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Rhodes tries to throw a body punch but Carnera avoids it by throwing Rhodes back against the ropes.
Rhodes gets through Carnera's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Carnera misses with a hook to the ribs.
Rhodes pushes off an throws an elbow but Carnera leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.
Carnera prevents a body shot from Rhodes.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rhodes scores with a shot to the side of Carnera's head.
Carnera is rocked!
The cut above Primo Carnera's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Rhodes creates a bit of distance and cracks Carnera with a big uppercut! Carnera goes down! The referee pushes Rhodes away into a neutral corner and starts the count. 4,5,6,7. Will Carnera make it up in time? He's still flopping around all over the place! The referee has called off the fight! Rhodes takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Max Rhodes!
