The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bateman cracks LeBeau with a right hand to the side of the head.
Bateman shoots in for a takedown but LeBeau shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

LeBeau throws an overhand right that lands on Bateman's shoulder, as Bateman tries to avoid the shot.
Bateman attempts a counter takedown but LeBeau avoids it well and moves away.
LeBeau lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bateman circles away quickly and effectively.
LeBeau looks to land a left hand but Bateman moved out of range nicely.

Bateman uses good head movement to avoid the hook from LeBeau.

LeBeau goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A jab from Bateman finds it's way through LeBeau's defenses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
LeBeau takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We've been informed that LeBeau has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts LeBeau, as that shot connected.
Bateman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

A little jabbing left from LeBeau on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

LeBeau misses the shot to the body.
A punch lands to the side of LeBeau 's head but he takes it in his stride.
LeBeau throws a sloppy head kick and Bateman moves out of range easily.
LeBeau misses with a double jab.
Bateman connects with a crisp jab.
A slow jab from LeBeau misses its intended target.

Bateman looking to score a takedown here. LeBeau is defending well but Bateman drives through and ends up in LeBeau's guard.
LeBeau can't keep his opponent in guard - Bateman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
LeBeau wants to improve his position but Bateman is controlling well.

LeBeau is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Bateman has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but LeBeau has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Bateman taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. LeBeau doesn't care though - he's delighted!
