PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Holly Stackhouse (ranked 5197 p4p, 179 weight class) and Ragnar Lotbrook (ranked 7721 p4p, 250 weight class). Stackhouse comes to the cage accompanied by Tool - Jambi. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Holly Stackhouse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ragnar Lotbrook!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lotbrook tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Lotbrook drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Lotbrook wants to control from the top but Stackhouse keeps moving.
Stackhouse is controlling Lotbrook's posture.
Lotbrook is looking to stand up but Stackhouse won't let him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lotbrook is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Lotbrook postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stackhouse is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lotbrook, into his guard.

Lotbrook wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Stackhouse is now in half guard.

Lotbrook is trying to get back to full guard.
Lotbrook is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stackhouse wants to pass the guard but Lotbrook is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lotbrook tries to kick Stackhouse off but Stackhouse keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Stackhouse will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Stackhouse is thwarting Lotbrook's attempts to control the position.
Stackhouse keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Stackhouse knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lotbrook on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Lotbrook shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lotbrook was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Stackhouse parries the strikes from Lotbrook easily there. Lotbrook is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stackhouse to escape.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Stackhouse is looking to reverse the position.

Lotbrook trying to control the action but Stackhouse is working from the bottom.
Lotbrook tries to move to mount but Stackhouse blocks the move with his legs.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ragnar Lotbrook dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Lotbrook closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Stackhouse's guard.
Lotbrook stands and throws Stackhouse's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lotbrook tries to advance to mount but can't.
Lotbrook wants to stand but Stackhouse has his arm trapped.
Stackhouse on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stackhouse tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lotbrook shoots in and gets a takedown into Stackhouse's guard.
Stackhouse has his hands on Lotbrook's head, controlling the position.
Lotbrook trying to control the position from guard on top but Stackhouse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lotbrook stays in close to Stackhouse's body and controls the position.

Lotbrook looking to sit in guard and control but Stackhouse gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lotbrook trying to keep a closed guard but Stackhouse is proving a slippery customer.
Stackhouse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lotbrook swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lotbrook throws his legs up looking for a submission but Stackhouse uses it to pass to side control.

Lotbrook is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Stackhouse tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Lotbrook wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ragnar Lotbrook showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Lotbrook shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stackhouse manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lotbrook wants to control from the top but Stackhouse keeps moving.

Lotbrook might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Stackhouse haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Stackhouse holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Ragnar Lotbrook is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Lotbrook has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
