Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Barcode Liang (ranked 8145 p4p, 795 weight class) and Alexander Porto (ranked 4208 p4p, 558 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liang looks to land a body kick but Porto moved away.
Liang avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Liang or perhaps it was just good defense by Porto, which made it look bad.
Porto looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Liang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Porto paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Porto displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Liang.

Porto forces Liang back against the cage and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

I was talking to Liang's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Porto drops Liang onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Liang is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Porto creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Liang's defenses.
Porto throws a big uppercut that drops Liang! More strikes from Porto and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Liang lies dazed against the cage as Porto celebrates with his cornermen!
