Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Berger (ranked 24835 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Dwayne (ranked 6540 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Berger has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Berger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brock Dwayne!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berger is looking to clinch but Dwayne is avoiding it.

Dwayne shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Berger is trying to defend but Dwayne finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Dwayne is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Dwayne is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Berger sees it coming and defends easily.

Berger has one foot on Dwayne's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Berger fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dwayne throws a sloppy head kick and Berger moves out of range easily.
Berger feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Berger really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Berger throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Dwayne drives through and clinches with Berger against the cage.

Dwayne escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dwayne moves into the clinch successfully.

Dwayne is trying to trip Berger. He has hold of a leg but Berger is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dwayne persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Berger is trying to buck Dwayne off.

Dwayne takes a little break here. Berger wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Berger manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Berger is looking to escape.
Dwayne perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Berger manages to escape and get back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dwayne has closed the distance and engaged Berger in a clinch.

Berger manages to break the clinch.

Dwayne decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.


Berger is rocked!

Dwayne is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Berger has managed to free his arm - good work.
Oh Berger is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dwayne wants to get back to his feet.
Dwayne is nestled in close to Berger, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dwayne is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Berger seems to have got his legs back now.

Dwayne has picked Berger up - he's going for a ride! Dwayne dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Berger tries to get to full guard but Dwayne has control of the leg.

Dwayne looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Berger is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Dwayne dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Berger throws a low kick but it's checked well by Dwayne.

Berger gets caught napping as Dwayne dives in and scores a takedown. Berger manages to retain guard.
Berger tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dwayne is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Dwayne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Berger has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dwayne off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Berger shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dwayne but Dwayne pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Berger is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dwayne is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Berger to the mat. Berger regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Berger is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dwayne tries to roll over but Berger keeps him under control.

Dwayne pushes Berger off looking to stand but Berger dives back in and keeps control.

Dwayne is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Berger thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dwayne's head.
Dwayne gets full guard.

Dwayne is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dwayne looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Dwayne throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Berger will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dwayne wants to stand up but Berger is controlling him.

Berger tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Berger goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dwayne has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Berger but great work by Dwayne.

Dwayne remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Berger throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Berger goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dwayne prevents it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mark Berger will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Berger tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dwayne smiles and moves away.
Dwayne swats away the attempt to clinch by Berger.
Berger shoots in but Dwayne avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Berger. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Berger loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dwayne bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Berger's guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dwayne in particular looking to stall.

Brock Dwayne comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dwayne has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
