The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Valentine with a poor takedown
and Brown counters with a one-two to the body.
Valentine throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brown was covering up waiting for the punch and Valentine finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
