Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hilton Schultz (ranked 6599 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piotr Mazur (ranked 8568 p4p, 0 weight class). Mazur has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hilton Schultz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Piotr Mazur!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mazur closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Schultz's guard.

Schultz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Schultz throws a nice elbow from the bottom.
Schultz tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Schultz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Schultz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mazur can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Schultz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Schultz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

A bit of stalling here from Schultz.
The referee is keeping an eye on Schultz - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Schultz seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Mazur tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Schultz just stands there and leans against the cage.

Schultz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Schultz closes the distance and clinches.
Mazur is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hilton Schultz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Piotr Mazur.

Schultz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Schultz gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Schultz is pulling down on Mazur's head. It's preventing any offense from Mazur, at least for the moment.
Mazur loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Schultz pushes Mazur off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Schultz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Schultz decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mazur to his feet.
Schultz dives in and grabs Mazur's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mazur pushes down on Schultz's head and hops out.

Schultz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mazur's half guard.
Mazur tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Schultz manages to move to mount!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Schultz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mazur can do to turn this around?

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Schultz.

Schultz jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mazur manages to avoid the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Schultz continues to hold on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Schultz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mazur goes for a takedown attempt but Schultz pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Schultz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mazur manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schultz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mazur is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Mazur tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mazur is working to get back to half guard.
Schultz controlling the position easily from mount.

Piotr Mazur has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hilton Schultz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Schultz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
