Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ji Lu (ranked 2526 p4p, 307 weight class) and Johnny Cage (ranked 1862 p4p, 237 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Cage!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lu looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cage tries to roll over but Lu keeps him under control.
Cage trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Cage tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Cage slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Lu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Lu is looking for a kimura but Cage is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lu to get the leverage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cage wants to control but Lu is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cage is controlling Lu's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Lu is keen to just control but Cage is a slippery customer.

Cage tries to get to full guard but Lu has control of the leg.

Lu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cage does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Lu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cage is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Cage throws a head kick that misses.

Lu shoots in for a takedown but Cage shows good takedown defense.
Cage thuds a left hand into Lu's body.
Cage throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lu shoots in and drives through. Cage sprawls well.

A little feinted left hand from Lu on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Lu doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cage counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Lu has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Cage finds it's way round the side to connect with Lu's head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lu is defended easily by Cage.

and Cage counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cage tries a head kick but it misses.
Lu blocks a head kick by Cage.

Lu dives in and scores a takedown into Cage's guard.

Cage is pulling down on Lu's head to control his posture.

Lu is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cage is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Lu throws a series of punches but Cage moves out of range.
Cage has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Lu on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lu is defended easily by Cage.
Cage clobbers Lu with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Ji Lu's cut is getting worse.
Lu avoids the head kick by Cage.
Ji Lu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cage throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Cage misses with a wild body shot.
Johnny Cage seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Cage displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lu.

Lu doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Lu misses with a takedown attempt - Cage sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Cage dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lu. That did some damage!
Cage throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Lu clinches up with Cage and pushes him back against the cage.

Lu changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cage fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Cage cracks Lu with an open hand slap.

Lu dives in and scores a takedown into Cage's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cage not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cage wants to sweep but no luck.
Lu throwing strikes but missing.

Cage is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lu is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cage tries to avoid it but Lu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cage to the ground. Cage escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cage lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Ji Lu's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Cage keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lu dives in and grabs Cage's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cage pushes down on Lu's head and hops out.
Cage tries a head kick but it misses.
Lu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cage as he jumps to the side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cage paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cage has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Lu ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Cage lands a nice hook to Lu's body. Lu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Cage counters with a head kick that drops Lu to the mat! Lu scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Ji Lu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cage drops Lu with a big left hand! Lu is injured, injured bad! Cage jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
