Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tony Jaa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Major Payne!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne clobbers Jaa with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Payne has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Jaa is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Payne's half guard.
Jaa drops an elbow to the side of Payne's head.

Payne gets full guard.
Jaa connects with a couple of short punches.
Payne is pulling down on Jaa's head. It's preventing any offense from Jaa, at least for the moment.
Let's hope that Payne has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jaa missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Payne can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jaa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jaa trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Payne wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Payne pulls Jaa in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jaa lands a couple of digs.
Payne lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Payne works over Jaa with some ground and pound from guard.

Payne won't allow Jaa to get back to his feet.
Payne is working Jaa over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Payne working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jaa's head.
Jaa wants to stand and escape but Payne is having none of it.
Jaa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Payne on the ground.
Payne distracts Jaa with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Payne chips away with some ground and pound.


Jaa is rocked!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jaa throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Oh Jaa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jaa is striking from the bottom but Payne uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Payne landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Payne looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jaa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Payne lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Jaa! More strikes land and this one is all over! Payne jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Major Payne!
A very excited looking Major Payne made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
