The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maverick changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fisher tries to avoid it but Maverick manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fisher to the ground. Fisher escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
As Maverick looks to move away, Fisher throws a big counter combo but Maverick just gets out of the way.
Maverick fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Maverick throws a body kick that misses.

Fisher closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Maverick did well to prevent Fisher getting side control.
Maverick is trying to escape back to his feet but Fisher uses the scramble to pass into side control.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fisher is on top in guard.

Fisher stands and steps away. Maverick gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Maverick shoots in looking for a takedown. Fisher tries to sprawl out of it but Maverick keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fisher manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fisher shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Fisher stands up and beckons Maverick to join him on the feet.

Maverick can't break the clinch.

Maverick tries to kick Fisher off in order to stand up. Fisher Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Fisher working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maverick doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maverick manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Maverick jumps guard but Fisher stands there with Maverick around his waist. Maverick gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Fisher has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Maverick regains guard immediately.
Fisher is standing up over Maverick. Maverick looks to escape but Fisher dives into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maverick is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alonso Fisher will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Maverick closes the distance and pushes Fisher back into the cage.

Fisher gets control of Maverick's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fisher will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
