Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ed Landry (ranked 5267 p4p, 648 weight class) and Nelson Country (ranked 3807 p4p, 506 weight class). Landry kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ride Wit Me - Nelly. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ed Landry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nelson Country!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Country gets a takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Country in particular looking to stall.

Country seems to be working for a kimura but Landry defends the submission attempt.
Country wants to free his trapped foot but Landry is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are battling for position here. Landry manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Country closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Landry's guard.

Both fighters circling a little - Landry finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Country is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Landry with a body shot.
Landry will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Country takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Country changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Landry tries to avoid it but Country manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Landry to the ground. Landry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Country is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Landry to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Landry shrugs it off.

After the fight, Ed Landry was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
