Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lenny Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deair Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw tries to clinch up.
Shaw fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Charles closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shaw to the mat! Shaw manages to get full guard.
Shaw is wriggling around but Charles manages to pass to half guard.
Charles could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Charles looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shaw with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Charles prevents Shaw from improving his position.

Charles is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shaw defends it well.
Charles looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shaw with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Charles drops an elbow to the side of Shaw's head.
Shaw wants to get back to his feet.

Shaw is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Charles pulls his head out easily.

Charles wants to work for an arm triangle but Shaw is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Shaw tries to kick Charles off but Charles keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Charles is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ground and pound from Charles.
Charles is nestled in close to Shaw, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Charles is looking for a kimura here.
Shaw is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Charles jumps into side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Charles looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Charles working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shaw tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Charles is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Charles!
