The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Last misses.

Last closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Velez quickly recovers to half guard.
Still in half guard, Last seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Velez is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Velez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Velez wants to control but Last is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Last with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Last prevents Velez from improving his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Last takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Velez is looking to control Last's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Velez avoid being mounted?
Last passes to side control.

Last is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Velez is trying to escape and Last transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Velez is forced to tap! Nice work there by Last! Very nice indeed!
