The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Rijn drives through and clinches with Stec against the cage.
Stec drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stec fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Van Rijn lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Stec is trying to pull guard but Van Rijn turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zygmunt Stec. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stec tries to pull guard but Van Rijn holds him up against the cage and eventually Stec drops back down to his feet.
Van Rijn tries to work over Stec's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A nice right hand lands inside from Van Rijn.

Stec jumps guard but Van Rijn turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Stec fails to pull guard.
Van Rijn lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Stec backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Van Rijn lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Stec.
Stec tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Van Rijn smiles and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stec takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Van Rijn moves into the clinch.
Stec is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Van Rijn to keep the fight standing.
Van Rijn lands a left hand that snaps the head of Stec backwards.
Stec's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Stec is rocked!
Van Rijn creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Stec with a big uppercut! Stec tries to clinch up but Van Rijn pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Stec to the mat! Stec covers up and Van Rijn unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
