Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keith Blubb (ranked 1616 p4p, 241 weight class) and Sasha Downdin (ranked 3175 p4p, 449 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downdin walks into a left hand.
Blubb looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
An inside leg kick lands from Downdin.
Downdin misses with a wild body shot.
Blubb waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Downdin.
Blubb looks to score with a jab to the body but Downdin is just out of range.
Downdin is trying to counter with his kicks.
Downdin fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Blubb checks it well.
Downdin misses with a body kick.
Blubb takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Downdin pivots, looking for a leg kick but Blubb is out of range and Downdin settles back down.
Downdin tries to land a front kick but Blubb steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Downdin looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Downdin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Blubb. That did some damage!

Blubb fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Downdin, pushing him back against the cage.

Downdin jumps guard but Blubb stands there with Downdin around his waist. Downdin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Blubb connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Downdin's hands.

Downdin throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

and Blubb counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Blubb.
Blubb lands a hook to the side of the head.
Downdin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Blubb walks away with a smile on his face. Downdin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Blubb has Downdin up against the cage in a clinch.
A short body shot lands from Blubb as the two fighters clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Blubb.
Blubb pushes Downdin back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Downdin tries to pull guard but Blubb won't allow it.

Blubb digs a right hand underneath Downdin's ribcage. Downdin let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Blubb throws a big uppercut that drops Downdin! More strikes from Blubb and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Downdin lies dazed against the cage as Blubb celebrates with his cornermen!
