The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mako has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mako lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Buchanan leaning against his opponent.
Mako gets control of Buchanan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mako will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mako is looking to stand back up but Buchanan counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mako.
Mako keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Mako tries to roll over but Buchanan keeps him under control.
Buchanan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mako on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mako has his hands clasped together around Buchanan's back. He's all about the action.

Buchanan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mako is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Buchanan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Buchanan's back!
Mako scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Buchanan is looking for a way out.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Buchanan is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Mako is not going to allow Buchanan to sit and survive in this position.

Buchanan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mako is hanging on to Buchanan's back as he tries to escape.
Mako has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Buchanan is in real trouble here. Mako gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Buchanan is tapping out! Mako wins by rear naked choke!
