Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ickey Woods (ranked 2805 p4p, 393 weight class) and Darian Frank (ranked 3069 p4p, 418 weight class). Woods comes to the cage accompanied by System of a Down- Chop Suey. Darian Frank will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ickey Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darian Frank!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frank swats away the attempt to clinch by Woods.
Frank throws a looping overhand right but Woods ducks down to avoid it.
As Frank tries to get set, Woods tries to push him back and clinch up but Frank manages to avoid the attempt.
We've been hearing reports that Woods has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Nice shot lands for Frank.
Nice sprawl there from Frank as Woods shoots in.
Frank thows a left - swing and a miss!
Woods wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Woods shoots in and drives through. Frank sprawls well.
Frank lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Woods throws a shot from downtown. Frank moves away and avoids it.
Frank lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Frank thuds his right hand into Woods's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Frank fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Woods, pushing him back against the cage.
Frank lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Oh Woods is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Woods jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Frank walks away with a smile on his face. Woods gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ickey Woods. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Woods closes the distance and pushes Frank back into the cage.
Frank lands with a right to the head.
Frank misses with some punches.
Woods jumps guard but Frank stands there with Woods around his waist. Woods gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Woods tries to pull guard but Frank forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Woods gets control of Frank's arms and successfully pulls guard. Woods will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Frank has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Woods is proving hard to escape from.
Frank postures up.

Woods had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Frank defends it easily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Woods holds on and takes a little breather.

Woods is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Frank defends well.

Woods looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Frank has picked Woods up and slammed him! Woods can't keep hold of the triangle and Frank manages to pass to side control!

Frank decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Frank tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Woods was well out of range. Poor timing from Frank.

Frank gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Woods jumps guard but Frank stands there with Woods around his waist. Woods gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Frank misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Woods tries to pull guard but Frank won't allow it.

Woods shoots in looking for a takedown. Frank tries to sprawl out of it but Woods keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Frank manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Woods tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Frank swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Woods on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Frank lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Frank cracks Woods with an open hand slap.
Woods misses with a body shot.
Woods wants to clinch.

Frank rushes Woods and presses him up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A hook to the body from Frank.
Frank prevents a body shot from Woods.
Woods jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Frank walks away with a smile on his face. Woods gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Frank with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Frank takes a swing at Woods's ribcage but misses.

Woods moves into range and clinches up with Frank.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Frank works on Woods's body with a couple of short punches.
Woods jumps guard but Frank turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Frank misses with some punches.
Woods fails to pull guard.
Woods tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Frank smiles and moves away.
Frank connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Frank cracks Woods with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Woods looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Frank finish him?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darian Frank dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


and Frank counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Woods! He's just covering up as Frank starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Darian Frank!
A very excited looking Darian Frank made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
