Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry Lawson (ranked 25590 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stacin Clark (ranked 7151 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barry Lawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stacin Clark!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark closes the distance looking to clinch
and Lawson counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Clark scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Clark stops Lawson from getting back to his feet.

Lawson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Clark keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Lawson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Clark is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Clark has picked Lawson up - he's going for a ride! Clark dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Lawson kicks Clark off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lawson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Lawson gets caught flat footed, as Clark shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Clark controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Let's hope that Clark has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Lawson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Clark off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Clark tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lawson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Clark drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lawson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Lawson tries to buck Clark off but Clark is having none of it.

Clark wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lawson keeps working.
Lawson is looking for a sweep.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Clark really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lawson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lawson is working hard here to advance position.
Clark remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Clark tries to advance to mount but can't.

Lawson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Clark misses with a body kick.
It looked like Lawson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Clark.
Lawson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Clark scores with a takedown into Lawson's guard.
Clark pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lawson is keeping the position for now.
Clark throws a strike but Lawson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Clark utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lawson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Clark is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Clark looks for the body kick but Lawson saw that one coming.
Clark tries to close the distance and clinch but Lawson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Clark gets a double leg takedown into Lawson's guard.

Lawson wriggles free and stands up.
Stacin Clark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Clark shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lawson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lawson throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

Clark decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lawson to his feet.
Clark closes the distance but Lawson moves to the side

and Lawson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lawson.
Clark is looking to stand back up but Lawson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Clark.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clark tries to kick Lawson off but Lawson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clark is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Lawson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Clark doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lawson.

Clark is defending against the submission attempts here by Lawson.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Clark manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Clark blocks a jab.
Clark wants to clinch.

Clark throws a leg kick

and Lawson counters with a takedown into side control.
Clark tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Lawson presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Lawson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Lawson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Lawson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Clark can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Lawson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Clark is now in Lawson's guard. A big mistake from Lawson there, giving up the dominant position!
Clark is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Clark stands up from Lawson's guard - Clark perhaps looking for a knockout.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Barry Lawson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Clark is looking to clinch but Lawson is avoiding it.

Clark darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Clark decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Clark scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lawson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Clark to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Clark stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lawson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Barry Lawson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Clark wants to control from the top but Lawson keeps moving.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Clark is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Clark won't allow Lawson to get back to his feet.
Clark must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Clark is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Lawson wants to control but Clark passes easily into half guard.
Clark seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lawson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Clark is just content to waste time from the top position. Lawson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Clark closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lawson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Barry Lawson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Lawson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
